"Christiane Perrochon" Profile
Showing regularly in Japan and France, Christiane Perrochon has progressively extended her reach from the professional milieu of interior decorating into a theatre of widespread recognition. Among numerous magazine exclusives in Vogue and other fashion and professional magazines, Christiane was featured in Elle Decores article on Karl Lagerfelds residences, in which his entire pottery and ceramic collections were the work of Ms. Perrochon.

Christians passion for color first stirred during her studies at the Ecole des ArtsDecoratifs in Geneva. Her forty years of research with high-temperature ceramic glazes continues to be a testimony to both her sense of depth and dedication. Obsessed with color and possessed with a sixth sense for discovering and developing hues that have rarely, if ever, been seen in stoneware, Chrstianes professional reputation is revered.

Enveloped in the natural harmony of the rolling Tuscan hills dotted with oak and olive trees, Christianes inspiration is drawn from all that surrounds her-from the pale ochre earth to the ever-changing sky. It is in this setting that she created her stoneware and porcelain ceramics, thrown at the wheel and shaped by hand, fired at high temperatures and covered with glazes of infinite colors and textures. Atelier di Ceramica, housed within the refectory walls of Castiglion Alberti, deep in Italys Tuscan heart, is where Christiane draws her inspiration. This hill is an extraordinary place, where I feel less and anchored to the earth. The colors are subtle and delicate. I find continuous nourishment in their hues.

Christianes experience finds her involved in the field of interior design where she employs her fascination with color in the creation of a signature series of ceramic bathroom ware, accessories, tile and furniture in ceramics of various shades, both shiny and matte, according to the material employed. Her work for Nic Design, a firm where she has been designer and technical advisor since 2002, recently received the Design Plus Prize at the last Frankfurt ISH exposition.
